2013 Tax Rates for Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties
Property owners in Chester and Delaware counties will see a slight increase in county property taxes this year, while Montgomery county taxes will remain the same in 2013.
* Chester County – The 2013 budget will increase county property taxes by about 5%, which is the first increase since 2009. According to the county administration’s budget proposal, the median tax bill in the county will increase of $32.86. Property tax millage will rise from the current 3.965 to 4.163 mills or 4.9%. A mill is $1 of tax for each $1,000 of assessed property value.
* Delaware County – The 2013 Delaware county budget calls for a millage rate of 5.452, a hike of 0.15 mills, or 2.8%. Homeowners of the average-value Delaware county home will pay a little more than $700 a year under the 2013 budget.
* Montgomery County – The Montgomery county commissioners passed a budget with no increase in county property taxes for 2013. The county millage rate in Montgomery county will remain at 3.152 mills.
