Everyday I continue to persue ways to become more green and reduce my carbon footprint. Here are a few green, earth friendly tips that I already follow: I’ve been using fabric napkins and towels instead of paper napkins or towels for years. Living in Delaware County, PA, I am able to walk to my local Havertown grocery store, where I use reusable grocery bags, and to my local Havertown Starbucks where I take my reusable coffee mug to get my coffee. Also, my iPhone has many apps for organizing my to-do lists and shopping lists, so I never have to worry about where I wrote it down or misplacing the paper.
Recently my car broke down along West Chester Pike in Newtown Square. I took the opportunity to make the switch to a hybrid. I was previously getting about 15-20 miles a gallon, but now I am getting about 40 miles per gallon, my car is literally paying for itself. I am now able to drive all over Philadelphia, Delaware County, Chester County and Montgomery County, without having to stop for gas. I feel better that I am driving a more planet-friendly vehicle.
