Recently I was showing clients in Malvern and Berwyn 3 bedroom homes in a few different neighborhoods. My buyers, like many I work with, asked…what is the neighborhood like? My response to my buyers and to you is that every neighborhood is different and can change from block to block. If you truly want to know the pulse of a neighborhood here are a few suggestions that I give my buyers:
1) Drive around the neighborhood. Since your initial visit to the house of your dreams may be on a weekend or at night in the dark, the neighborhood may appear one way, bustling with activity on the weekend with kids playing in the yards, or dark and quiet at night. If you have the time to check out the neighborhood during morning/afternoon rush hour, school times, or even on a Sunday, I always suggest that my clients drive around the neighborhoods they are thinking about buying a home.
2) Another good way to learn about the neighborhood is to talk to the neighbors. They love to talk about their community and are usually willing to tell you everything, just keep your guard up.
